Student Spotlight
Olivia Taylor spent a month in Los Angeles this summer honing her modeling skills. She had on average 2-4 castings/auditions a day. From that experience she learned about interviewing skills, how to be bold, taking safety precautions, and getting around new places. She says she also learned how well she can take rejection and how humor always helps. While there she was also able to explore LA, visiting the Getty center, Griffith Observatory, hearing the LA Philharmonic, and more. Congratulations to Olivia on an impressive summer!

College Rep Visit
On Tuesday, September 5th, our first college representative will visit TNCS. Ryan Dillon from High Point University will be in Ms. Latta’s room during Extra Help. Juniors and Seniors who are interested in learning more about High Point University should plan on attending.
Clubs
During Friday’s assembly we introduced the revamped way in which the Upper School will be doing clubs. Clubs will now be student organized and student led. Over the next few weeks they will have the opportunity to develop a club idea, find a faculty sponsor, and formulate a presentation. This is a great opportunity for our students to explore their passions and try new interests.
Student Life
Next Thursday’s Student Life time will be devoted to the TNCS Honor Code. This is a fantastic tradition where the Student Advisory Board members will lead a presentation and discussion on the Honor Code, and then all students will sign the honor pledge. Talk to your child about the TNCS Honor Code and how it is important for our community.
Senior Beach Trip
Planning ahead, our traditional senior beach trip will take place October 4 – October 7. We will leave after classes on the 4th. This year we will be going to Sandbridge Beach. We have rented two lovely homes for the students. You will be receiving more information on this trip soon.
