SAT Dates for Seniors

The next SAT testing dates are November 2nd and 3rd. Students should register by October 3rd using their College Board accounts. The SAT registration fee is $49.50. Students are welcome to see Mrs. Harley, in Morris Hall-Room 103, for registration help but they will need to bring a credit card for payment. SAT dates are:

  • October 5-6 late Registration deadline: September 24th
  • November 2-3 – register by October 3
  • December 7-8 – register by November 8

 Visit: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/dates-deadlines

Seniors who are taking the SAT on October 5 and 6 should be on campus both days no later than 8:15am. Testing will begin soon after in Room 103 of Morris Hall. Students should bring the following with them on both days of the test:  computer CHARGER, headphones, approved calculator, #2 pencils, snacks, and water. Students will also need to bring the admission ticket that contains the registration number needed for the test.

ACT

Seniors interested in taking the ACT should see Mrs. Harley prior to registering. Visit act.org for the test schedule.

PSAT/NMSQT for Juniors

On Saturday, October 19, we will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT to TNCS juniors. The PSAT/NMSQT is a practice-version of the SAT, the College Board’s admissions test. Testing will begin at 8:30am. Without accommodations, the test takes about three hours. Many students have the accommodation of extended time, so they may be at school for four or more hours.

Visit collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/practice for PSAT practice resources.

While the PSAT/NMSQT is not required, we have found that it is useful both for diagnostic purposes and to help students become accustomed to the types of tests they will encounter as they explore the college admissions experience. To cover the cost of test administration, the school will charge a $25 fee.

Please email Mrs. Harley by September 16 to indicate whether your student will or will not be taking the PSAT/NMSQT on October 19, so we can get an accurate headcount of test takers. This email will also grant permission for your account to be billed for the fee.

Junior Class College Trip

The Junior Class College Trip will be in November. We will visit Longwood University, Lynchburg University, and Virginia Tech. The juniors will be departing TNCS after school on Monday, November 11 and returning the evening of November 13.
