Submission deadline is THIS FRIDAY, November 15! Please submit all clipped BoxTops by November 15—collection jars can be found in the student kitchen in Founders Hall. Reminder: the clipped BoxTops are being phased out. Learn more about the new process here.

If your family does not intend on selling or doesn’t sell all 15, please return them.

These tickets are good for admission on Saturday, November 23 or Sunday, November 24. Please stop by Massey Hall to pick up tickets. For more information about the event, please click here.
Tech Tip of the Week
BEE-Aware – This week we revisit a tip about browser hijackers. An increasing number of students have been hijacked recently. Do a quick Google search on MacKeeper, MacAuto Fixer, Advanced MacCleaner, MyMac Updater, MacOSDefender, Combo Cleaner, CleanMyMac, Mac CleanUp Pro, and Mac Guard and it will be apparent that these programs have mixed reviews and may not quite be what they claim to be. These programs purport to assist you in speeding up your laptop and ‘cleaning’ it of unwanted malware, adware, viruses, etc. Unfortunately, they don’t really live up to the hype. There are so many versions of this ‘software’ because of a reputation for being PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Software like this has actually been known to slow your system down, install one of those pesky browser hijackers, and carry other PUPs in their install bundle. You will usually see them offer assistance when some websites recognize you are on an Apple computer. They pop up in a very friendly manner and state, “I see your computer isn’t performing at its optimal level” or “Is your laptop slower than it should be?” If you are feeling sluggish, you may be inclined to take help from these seemingly nice folks. That is what they count on and are more than happy to offer you a free download of their software. Please be careful and avoid installing these ‘helpers’ if possible. If you find that you have inadvertently installed one of these programs removing them can be tricky.
UPPER SCHOOL NEWS

We will cheer runners and walkers along as they pass. Also, we may help manage traffic and collect trash. Sign up soon! If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Clelland.

College Representatives
We were thrilled to have over 20 college representatives on our campus over the past few months. Students asked important questions and gleaned valuable information about a variety of colleges and universities. A representative from VMI will be on campus during the afternoon of November 21st. Stay tuned for other college and career related visitors coming to campus in the coming months.
College & Career Counselor
Seniors graciously welcomed Taryn Adkins this week as she began transitioning to the role of College & Career Counselor. Ms. Adkins visited seniors in their Senior Skills Seminar class and met with some students individually. Mrs. Harley and Ms. Adkins met with seniors and their Senior Skills Seminar teachers on Monday to review some important reminders about the college application process. This amazing class of seniors is supported by a dedicated team devoted to helping them through this process. Please ask your senior to show you the colleges listed in their Common Applications and/or Coalition Applications. Ms. Adkins and Mrs. Harley will be happy to meet with you and your senior to discuss his or her plans.
