Junior Class College Trip
Sabers did an exceptional job representing TNCS on the annual Junior Class College Trip while visiting Longwood University, Lynchburg University, and Virginia Tech. Students got a glimpse of college life on a variety of campuses by engaging in detailed information sessions, participating in guided tours, and eating in a dining hall and food court. Two very special alums, Morgan Boseman at Longwood University and Benjamin Arnett at Virginia Tech, met the group on their respective campuses and provided valued feedback on their personal experiences. Juniors participated in small group sessions each night to prepare for campus visits. Every student had the opportunity to answer and pose critical questions and reflect upon their experiences to identify individual likes and dislikes. The College & Career Counselor gained beneficial information from this experience that will be helpful in customizing plans for every student’s future. This adventure was a special opportunity for students to spend treasured time together.
PSAT scores will be released in early December. Students will analyze their individual score reports in Junior Seminar. Juniors will have the opportunity to use customized SAT practice through their linked College Board and Khan Academy accounts.
Daily schedules for each team can be found at www.tncsathletics.org. Please create a FAN ACCOUNT for your child’s team so you can receive alerts of schedule changes.
Mondays are pizza days for lunch at TNCS, to benefit the athletic department. Slices of cheese and pepperoni pizza from Domino’s are available. Students place their order on sheets posted on campus. Pizza is $1.50/slice. Drinks are also available for $1.00. Both are billed to the student’s account. Cash is not accepted.
