Coffee With Nancy  

The final Coffee with Nancy for the year is coming up on Friday, May 11. We have also invited new parents for the 2018-19 school year. This will be a great time for you to share about your transition to TNCS and for them to ask you questions. The 2018-19 Division Directors – Scott Kay, MS, and Adam Rothschild, US – will also be in attendance. Please RSVP to April Eddleton.

Sports Physicals

We are offering the Spring Sports physicals after school on Wednesday, May 9th. All TNCS students are required to have a physical exam after May 1, 2018 to participate in 2018-2019 TNCS Saber sports season. Click here for full details and required paperwork. Please bring completed forms with you on May 9th or drop them off at Mrs. Chambers’ cottage. Please note the medical history form is required for Dr. Reece to complete the physical exam. Mindful Parenting Conference

The Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation and the Chrysalis Institute present the 2nd annual Mindful Parenting Conference on Saturday, June 9 at Collegiate School. With 4 keynote speakers (Sherry Klauer, Chris Raina, Ph.D., Grace and David Gallagher), and more than 15 highly regarded and accomplished experts in fields of parenting, mindfulness, behavioral psychology and research, yoga, family dynamics and stress reduction, this event will provide tools to implement immediately for a more harmonious household. Summer Programs

The TNCS Summer Programs brochure is live and registration is open! This year’s program includes a new lineup for the Middle School Afternoon Exploratory, Middle School and Upper School Programming, and Verbal and Math PSAT/SAT prep courses. MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

5/6 Grade Field Trip

The fifth and sixth grade students will be visiting the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Center in Virginia Beach on Tuesday, May 22. A letter and permission slip will be distributed in science class with the details of the trip. Permission slips are due by Thursday, May 17 and should be given to Mrs. Taylor.

UPPER SCHOOL NEWS

Jr/Sr Field Trip

On Tuesday, May 15th all the juniors and seniors are traveling to Washington for their annual history field trip. Click here for the Washington Trip permission form and details. 

Class Ring Orders for 10th and 11th Graders

Jostens will return on Wednesday, May 9 at 3pm in Greenwood Commons to answer questions and collect class ring orders. Parents are welcome to stop by and meet with our Jostens rep.

Summer Innovation Program

The STARTSHIP Summer Innovation Program is a 6 week program that helps students grades 10-12 become better problem solvers and more effective communicators! Students will also build confidence in presenting themselves and their ideas. These skills are invaluable to starting college and launching a career. For more information, visit their website.

LUNCHES

Pizza Mondays

Mondays are pizza days for lunch at TNCS, to benefit the athletic department. Slices of cheese and pepperoni pizza from Domino’s are available. Students place their order on sheets posted on campus. Pizza is $1.50/slice. Drinks are also available for $1.00. Both are billed to the student’s account. Cash is not accepted.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help serve pizza on Mondays from 11:45am – 1:15. Click here to sign up to help!

Jason’s Deli Lunch Options Tuesday – Thursday

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays students are able to purchase in advance lunches from Jason’s Deli. Orders are submitted online by noon the day before delivery. Click here for the order form, which can also be found via a link at the top of the school’s homepage.
