Office 365 Subscription
Are you graduating or not returning to TNCS next year? We will certainly miss you! Don’t forget that your TNCS Office 365 subscription (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive) will be deactivated over the summer. You can get a free student Office 365 subscription, and you can also use Pages (Word), Keynote (PowerPoint), and Numbers (Excel) to open your documents when you hold down the control button and click on the document.
Successful Year for NHS
The 2018-19 National Honor Society members just concluded a successful year. Our chapter donated 479 pounds of food to the Central Virginia Food Bank, delivered valentine’s to every member of school, sold more than 200 cheesesteaks at lunch, held five successful bake sales, and raised over $1,200. At our last meeting of the year, members presented several worthy charities and voted to donate the funds raised this year to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond. Thank you to all who took part in our events this year!
Loaned Chargers
Periodically, students need to recharge their laptops and iPads. We happily loan them chargers of all sorts to get them through the day. Unfortunately, we are missing a lot of these loaned charging cords. If you happen to notice any extra cords around your house and wouldn’t mind returning it to school, it would be most appreciated. Thanks for checking!

Tech Tip of the Week: Steer Clear of PUPs
There are many programs purporting to assist you in speeding up your laptop and ‘cleaning’ it of unwanted malware, adware, viruses, etc. Unfortunately, they don’t really live up to the hype. There are so many versions of this ‘software’ because of a reputation for being PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Click here to learn more about avoiding these risks.

ATHLETICS
Sign Ups for Fall Sports Happening Now
Sign up sheets for fall Saber Sports went up last week. Based on these sign ups, we will hire coaches, make practice schedules, buy uniforms, and schedule games. MS sheets are outside the athletic office. US sheets are in Founders Hall. The practice start date is listed on the sheet for each team. US sports start August 12. MS sports start August 20. We are also investigating the possibility of an 8-man football team (grades 8-12), which would start August 5. Students have been urged to check the date before they commit and sign up. Students who do not sign up and do not make the start of practice may not have a roster spot this fall. Our goal in Saber Sports is to provide each student with the best possible experience. To do this, we need accurate sign ups to ensure accurate planning. Please encourage your child to accurately reflect their intentions on the sign-up sheets by the end of the day on Tuesday.
Sign up sheets include:
- Coed cross country
- Girls volleyball
- Boys soccer
- 8-man football
- Developmental golf
