MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Honor Code
This past Friday the Middle School Student Advisory Board presented the Honor Code to the Middle School. We are extremely proud and pleased with the Student Advisory Board for their leadership, and with the entire Middle School for taking the signing of the pledge so seriously.
Volunteer Opportunity
On Saturday, February 17th, from 9:45am-1pm, Middle School students will be volunteering to help Houlagan’s Rest Dog Shelter at Stony Point Fashion Park. Students will have the opportunity to participate in their “Hike A Houlagan” program by walking dogs around the mall. This program builds confidence for dogs who need to reconnect with people and will allow our students to have the opportunity to bond with the needy animals. It is not an obedience class, it is simply leash-walking a rescue dog. Visit their website to learn more: houlagansrest.com.
Click here for the permission slip and Houlagan’s Rest required forms. In order to participate, students should turn in all of these forms to Mrs. Clelland or Mrs. Harley. All forms must be turned in by February 15. There is limited space on the bus, so students also have the option to meet our group at Stony Point Fashion Park. Contact Mrs. Harley with any questions.
MS Ski Day
The TNCS Middle School will go to Massanutten Ski Resort for our annual Ski Day on Friday, February 2. This annual trip is a lot of fun and will be well supervised by TNCS faculty. We will continue to offer tubing as well. This is a great alternative to skiing/snowboarding, especially for those who don’t know how to ski. The tubing area will be well supervised by teachers. This trip is optional, however, if your child does not attend the trip, they should stay home that day. There will be no alternative activities on campus. The permission form contains more information. Anyone who has not turned in a form but is still interested in attending should turn it in as soon as possible. You may send a printed form back to the school office, or the form can be filled out electronically and emailed to jcarmichael@tncs.org.
