ALL-SCHOOL NEWS
Update From the Nurse’s Office
Despite the Facility Team’s diligent efforts to wipe down handrails, door/bathroom handles, and finger pads, we are seeing an increased incidence of colds, stomach bugs, strep, and even a couple of cases of the flu. Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently and keep their fingers away from their faces as much as possible.
Students should not be in school if they have the following:
- a fever of 100.4 degrees or greater before taking a fever-reducing medication
- vomiting or diarrhea because of illness
- an unknown rash or possible contagious condition.
They should not return to school until they are 20 – 24 hours without a fever, or vomiting or diarrhea because of illness. We are keeping track of what symptoms are going around, so please let us know if your child has a positive test for strep, flu, or any other potentially contagious illness.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Raggio if you have any questions or concerns (804.266.2494 x2235).
Tech Tip of the Week
Space check! Does your device have enough storage? Is your device running slower than normal? It might be time to clean up and free some storage. On your laptop, go to the Apple in the upper left corner, click and scroll to ‘About This Mac’ and then select the storage tab on the window that pops up. The amount of storage (outlined in the blue circle) will be shown. The handy manage button outlined to the right in red will open up a pop up that provides suggestions on where big storage hogs are located. On your iPad, go into Settings > General > About and you will see an area that shows your iPad’s Capacity as well as Space Available. Media like movies, photos, and Garageband creations are usually a good place to start. Check your downloads folder on your laptop and make sure to empty your trash, too. If you need any help, come see Mrs. DelMonte.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Ski Trip
The TNCS Middle School will go to Massanutten Ski Resort for our annual Ski Day on Friday, February 7. More information can be found here. This trip is optional; however, if your child does not attend the trip, they should stay home that day. There will be no alternative activities on campus. The permission form must be returned to the school on or before Wednesday, January 29. Alternately, the form can be filled out electronically and emailed to jcarmichael@tncs.org.
UPPER SCHOOL
Ski Trip
There are still spots available for the Upper School Ski Day trip to Massanutten on Friday, January 31st. We will continue to accept permission forms as long as there is space available on the busses. More information and permission form can be found here. The form can be turned in to the office or filled out electronically and emailed to jcarmichael@tncs.org.
Athletic Schedules
Daily schedules for each team can be found at www.tncsathletics.org. Please create a FAN ACCOUNT for your child’s team so you can receive alerts of schedule changes.
