ALL-SCHOOL NEWS
Call for volunteers!
Who: Energetic, creative, outgoing parent volunteers needed for the 2020 TNCS fall raffle committee. Can volunteer in several areas:
- Call upon businesses for donations
- Marketing and promotion
- Logistics (stuffing packets, tracking, etc.)
- Student involvement
Work will be done throughout the remainder of this school year and over the summer. Should be turnkey to replicate the popular raffle items offered in fall 2019. Businesses were very happy and eager to donate to TNCS because we have not asked them for previous donations. We are hoping to add one or two new packages next year to include a trip. Also looking to add exciting prizes for students to encourage competition among the houses. Please email Virginia McAndrew in the Development Office to sign up; she will connect you with the right PA Board members. It will be lots of fun and a great way to meet other TNCS parents! No experience necessary and can be done on your own time!
8th Graders Shadowing Upper School Students
On Wednesday afternoon, our 8th graders will shadow an Upper School student. They will visit two classes and have some time to talk about their experience in the TNCS Upper School. Then, 8th graders will have the opportunity to debrief the experience with their advisor. Through this experience, we hope that our 8th graders will learn what to expect in Upper School and spend the remainder of the 8th grade year developing habits that will help them be successful.
Tech Tip of the Week: Navigating a Digital Life
Browser hijackers are a real thing for students and teachers. Please make sure you pay careful attention when you search. If your browser suddenly changes its look, a hijacker may have grabbed your browser. The following urls have been associated with known browser hijacks: searchbaron.com, searchitnow.com, search.com.offer, com.xyz.abc, searchplusnow.com, myshopcoupon, and anysearch. Some hijackers realize the fake ‘Google’ page has become recognizable, so they have switched to a fake ‘Bing’ search page. Watch and if you see any changes in your search engine that you didn’t initiate proceed with caution. If you see any of the urls listed above come and see Mrs. DelMonte as soon as you can. Stay cyber safe Sabers!
