ALL-SCHOOL NEWS
Exams
The first semester is drawing to a close. Students in grades 8-12 will be reviewing for exams for a week, beginning on Thursday, December 7th. Exam Week starts Thursday, December 14th and continues through Tuesday, December 19th. Saturday, December 16th and Wednesday, December 20th are make-up days for exams missed due to illness. Students and their parents will receive individual exam schedules next week. In general, exams for grades 8 and 9 will be in the morning (start time 9am) and exams for grades 10-12 will be in the afternoon (start time 12:30), except that all Tuesday exams will be in the morning. Check the middle and upper school sections for more detailed information.
Students in grades 5, 6, and 7 do not have exams during Exam Week. Instead, they will work on special cross-disciplinary projects during the mornings. Their school hours will be 8am to noon during Exam Week. There are a few 6th and 7th grade students who do take math exams, but they will take them during the school day on December 13th.
Dress Code
As a reminder, the dress code applies to exam and grade-level project days, just as it does for normal school days. Thank you!
Study Strategies Workshop
After school on Monday, December 11, from 3:45-4:30, Mr. Roy will be hosting a pre-exams Study Strategies Workshop for any interested 8th-12th grade students. No RSVP necessary – this is a great opportunity for students to learn how to prepare for their exams most effectively.
Doughnut Sales
On Tuesday, December 12th NHS will be selling doughnuts for $1 each before school in Founders Hall in place of our regular snack sales. IF there are any leftovers they will be sold during Upper School Break.
Holiday Lunch
On Wednesday, December 13, after academic and LF classes, TNCS students and teachers will gather in the gym as a community and celebrate the holidays with a Holiday Lunch. Lunch will be provided; the menu will include fried chicken, salad, sides, and desserts. In case of food allergies or dietary restrictions, or if your student prefers, they may bring their own lunch. Happy Holidays!
Trip to Arlington
On Saturday December 16, US and MS student volunteers will go to The National Cemetery in Arlington to help lay wreaths on the graves of fallen soldiers. This is part of the Wreaths Across America program and is a great experience. (Trip is full)

5th-7th grade players have basketball practice 12:30–1:30 during the grade level project days (December 14, 15, 18, 19). They should bring lunch to eat at the end of project time (noon). Parent pick up for these students is 1:30.
