Tech Tip of the Week: Bee-Aware Sabers!
Flash is necessary to make some websites functional; it always seems like it needs an update, too. Did you know scammers are using this to their advantage? When you are browsing, be careful of unexpected pop-ups claiming you need to update your Adobe Flash. These are realistic looking sites that take advantage of the user’s angst to have websites perform the way they are supposed to perform. If installed, the fake Adobe Flash Player can come with many not-so-friendly surprises: adware, malware, data trackers, or worse. Solution – treat any Adobe update pop-ups as fake, close them carefully, and consider the site you are on and if you really need to be there. Once you are clear of the phony update, you can work to see if your Flash Player really does need updating. If you go to your Mac’s System Preferences, you will see that the Flash Player has its own icon all the way on the bottom row. Once clicked, it will lead you to any necessary updates for your player.

Jostens: Class Rings for Sophomores and Juniors
Jostens will return on Friday, May 3 at 3pm in Greenwood Commons to answer questions and collect class ring orders from sophomores and juniors. Parents are welcome to stop by and meet with our Jostens’ rep.
Students and families are also welcomed to visit the Jostens Website to check out the many ring options and submit orders online. Contact Mrs. Fields with any questions about ordering class rings.
Seniors: Committing to a College
Seniors should be aware of the deadlines to commit to a school. Most colleges require a commitment to attend, a deposit, and any necessary documentation by May 1st. Seniors are reminded to notify Mrs. Harley once they have made their final decision. Once seniors commit to a school, they should notify the other colleges to which they were accepted that they will not be attending.
Seniors are encouraged to meet with Mrs. Harley if they would like help with notifying colleges or making a transition plan for entering college in the fall. Mrs. Harley will also be available some this summer to meet with seniors.
SAT for Juniors
Juniors will take the SAT at TNCS on May 4th and 5th. Students should report to Founders Hall no later than 8:15am. Students should bring the following with them on both days of the test: computer, charger, headphones, #2 pencils, snacks, and water. *They will also need to bring the admission ticket that contains the registration number needed for the test.
