Europe Trip
We are thrilled to offer the opportunity for eligible students to travel to Europe in the summer of 2018! Students who will be in 8
th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade during the 2017-2018 school year are eligible to participate. The deadline to register for the trip is September 30th. Trip leaders Julie Noble and Carolyn Latta will be holding a couple more parent meetings in mid-September (Time TBD) for those interested in learning more about the trip. Click here to access the General Information and FAQ sheet. In our classes, we strive to bring history alive for our students, but this trip will allow them to experience reenacting history where it actually happened! If you have any questions, please contact Julie Noble or Carolyn Latta.

Middle School News

Student Life Day
We are so excited for our first Student Life day this Friday! After Extra Help, the Middle School will have the opportunity to take part in a series of ice-breakers to help foster a sense of community. They will learn the Middle School motto and start to get to know their classmates and teachers even better. After the Student Life block, they will then meet with their advisors. This will be a wonderful time to ask questions, start to think about potential goals, and connect with their advisor.

Required Apps for MS Students
5th, 6th, and 7th grade parents can find the list of required apps for school here. Questions? Please contact Jessica DelMonte.

Upper School News

Welcome
We welcom
e all to the 2017-18 school year. We know this will be a great year! Mr. Rothschild and Dr. Tisdale will be splitting the upper school by grades. If you are a 9th or 10th grade parent, your contact will be Mr. Rothschild. If you are a 11th or 12th grade student, Dr. Tisdale will be the point of contact. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s educational success.

9th Grade Trip to the Science Museum
Our 9
th grade students will be visiting the Da Vinci Exhibit at the Science Museum this coming Friday, September 1st. It is unusual to have a field trip during the first week of school, but the exhibit closes just a few days afterwards. It ties in beautifully with both our physical science curriculum and World History 9 so we did not want our students to miss this opportunity. Thanks to the generosity of the Science Museum, students will attend free of charge. Click here for more details about the trip.

Student Life Day
The Upper School team is excited for our first Student Life day this Friday! After 7th period, the Upper School will gather for ice-breakers, meet their advisors, and learn some of the logistics of the Upper School. Student Life blocks on Fridays are an important time for students to work collaboratively, participate in clubs, or learn from guest speakers. We are excited to start the year off on a high note!

Senior Beach Trip
Planning ahead, our traditional senior beach trip will take place October 4 – October 7. We will leave after classes on the 4th. This year we will be going to Sandbridge Beach. We have rented two lovely homes for the students. You will be receiving more information on this trip soon.

October SAT
The October SAT deadline is September 8th. TNCS will offer the October SAT on Sunday, October, 8th and Monday, October 9th (Holiday-no classes). Seniors can sign up for the test through their College Board accounts.
