March 2016 – Randy Harris

We are very proud to follow and share the record-breaking athletic career of alum Randy Harris! Randy is a jumper with Lebanon Valley College Track & Field. According to Lebanon Valley on March 4 “Harris was impressive in earning a podium spot, recording a fifth-place finish after being seeded 19th thanks to a program-record effort of 14.05 meters in the triple jump. The freshman shattered his previous best jump of 13.57 meters that he set at the MAC Championships one week ago.” Click here to read the full article. Last week they also announced that Randy, along with 3 other LVC athletes, earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors. “Harris, the ECAC Championships runner-up in the high jump, earned all-region recognition in the high and triple jump events thanks to his record-breaking efforts this season.”

November 2015 – Tom Fletcher

TNCS Alum Tom Fletcher is currently a senior at Davis & Elkins and was among members of the College’s GreenWorks! Club and Center for Sustainability Studies who attended the Mother Earth News Conference and Fair in Seven Springs, Pa.

The students, accompanied to the conference by Director of the D&E Center for Sustainability Studies Russ McClain and Assistant Professor of Biology and Environmental Science Dr. Crystal Krause, attended talks and demonstrations on sustainable building, renewable energy and transportation, and community agriculture.

GreenWorks! is the student sustainability organization of D&E’s Center for Sustainability Studies which promotes green initiatives both on campus and in the community by sponsoring events, supporting local recycling efforts and providing opportunities for students to become active in sustainability research and community partnerships. Tom is the President of GreenWorks! this year, as well as President of Delta Alpha Pi, D&E’s honor society.
